Hope it's ok to post about this but there is a new car enthusiasts site for islanders at

http://iowcf.forumotion.com/

If you are a car enthusiast or know someone who is, do visit and hopefully we can get enough people together for a meet or an early morning run.

Hi iowcf1,

We don't have a car forum so that's fine.

Unfortunately I live on another island but I have IOW links. My car is a 1954 Buckler Mark 5, with tuned Ford sidevalve engine of 1172 cc.

Bucklers were made in Reading and Crowthorne Berkshire 1947 to early 1960's and most were sold in component form. I would be interested to hear from anyone who knows if there was ever one on the Isle of Wight (or a Buckler Kart) and I have a 1949ish cine film of a Buckler works outing to the Isle of Wight.

Below is a photo of a very early Buckler Mark 5 ( works built circa 1949). Later model types looked very different with much more streamlined bodies.
