Hi
I have retitled this topic as I don't think I was getting the correct "audience" as I have had no replies yet.
We are exhibiting 1970 IOW Music Festival images at the Dimbola Lodge from June to Sept this year. We will hope to produce supplementary merchandise such as posters and greetings cards of some of the photographs.
Does anyone know of any outlets where we will be able to deliver stock to when we arrive on the island to set up the exhibition, please?
We can either sell stock or do a "sale or return" with you. The exhibition will be coinciding with this years music festival, and the images/cards will no doubt be of interest to the thousands of festival goers who will have an automatic attraction to Jimi Hendrix and The Who etc who will appear on the products.
The photographer, who is my father in Law, Charles Everest, who was resident on the isle for many years, may be a familiar name to some of you already.
Please reply here or PM me so that I can post you thumbnails and have a chat about it. The website will be up and running soon and I will also be able to put you onto a link when it is ready.
Thanks

Hi Glenningogs,
Sorry for that rather rude and unhelpful reply from one of our more rude and unhelpful members of this site. There is a store on Union Street in Ryde which deals in prints/photos of the IOW and also stocks some stuff relating to the early IOW festival. I will get there contact details tommorow and get back to you. |

Thanks EG
It's nice to know there are some helpful people out there. It sounds like the right type of place to be with the goods - thanks! Look forward to hearing from you
Why other people have to be so cynical and expect that kind of opinion to be for the "benefit" of others, I've no idea. He/She is probably making others feel rubbish by proxy and judging others by his/her own life experiences. Go climb a rock, paint a picture or even go cold turkey "M8", then you might feel good about yourself!!
Thanks again and if anyone else can be helpfull it will be very much appreciated |

He/she never said there was anything wrong with being either an alcoholic or a drug addict.
Whereas you, on the other hand, appear to consider suffering from either illness - yes illness, as no-one chooses to take these paths in life - makes a person "rubbish".
As for unemployment it is a fact that the Island is well above the national average in this respect.
I am in agreement that your post was patronising, and that was before you repackaged it as you considered its lack of response from this forum was wholly misplaced. |

Hi Every one
I'm really confused now.
I asked a question
Someone got really dispondant and tried to upset me
Someone was then very nice and agreed to help me
I thanked that person
I made a sympathetic remark about the person who was vicious to me
The nice person said something that I hope was still nice (but couldn't quite get the gist of it (hope he's still going to help me).
I smiled back in the hope tht he was being nice.
Then someone came on and said something about someone being patronising, and a lot of ther things, and I couldn't work out who it was aimed at.
I really am lost. If anyone thinks it is me that's being patronising, I am truely sorry and it has quite upset me....really, it has.
I know there is high unemployment on the island, (this is why my husband had to regretfully leave the island himself as a youth) but I would hate to think that the chap who replied to me first was an example of absolutely everyone in that predicament - I just felt it unfair that he should put such a comment in like that in a thread the first place, without it being a cry for help (maybe I didn't help and if that is the problem, then I apologise...again!).
Am I getting the wrong end of the stick, or is someone really getting at me. I need to know in simple terms, please. Help. I really can't understand where the thead is going??

Ah hold on a mo
It was Ventnor Longknives that responded with the Vodka Comment...not Einsteins ghost! Looking at previous posts Ventnor has made, I now realise that that comment might not have been in my favour after all.
Now I just need to know...is Wight Majik on my side? (that bit has still confused me)
Sorry EG for thinking you had made that earlier comment - it was no wonder I didn't understand it (phew).

I am so sorry, Einsteins Ghost, that you have had to read all this, but I have looked through other posts by Wight Majik to try and understand the comment made and have found out that he/she has also confused you in the past.
I hope you do not think I am a lunatic now, after all this, and you can still find it your heart to help me

Hi Glenys,
Don't worry. I'm used to that strange individual now! Best ignored.
Anyway, the details as promised. The shop is called FRAMERS - 56 Union St. Ryde. Tel: 01983 566 054.
Good Luck.
PS. A lot of shops cloed in Ryde at the moment due to the snow so don't be suprised if they don't answer the phone today! |

Your welcome Glenys,
Sorry about two of our more eccentric users! 99% of users on this site are fab. The tiny minority are a bad advert for the site and the Island. Whatever, let us know how you get on.
