| Just wondered if anyone on this site knows anyting about local artist Eric Geddes who works mainly with 'site specific' sculpture. The reason I ask is that whilst unemployed I work as a volunteer at a local charity shop, and a framed photo of one of his works came in as a donation. I am really interested in Sculpture and although I didn't recognise the actulal piece (It was on the beach at Fort Victoria, and consisted mainly of driftwood and clay) I recognised the style + there was an an inscription on the back from the artist sigened by Eric, whos name I did recognise. I found a briek film of him on YouTube and found out he had a recent exhibition at the Quay Arts Centre. I like his work a lot and was just curious if others know of him. |

That extraordinary exhibition brings together an unprecedented range of work by Eric Geddes, marking the 30 years of his career. He was a son of Auckland Campbell Geddes. He was a businessman and a politician as well. He loved to do some sculptured arts too.
