Diversi- TIES - no barriers to disability (Isle of Wight)

Opportunities have arisen for Network and Campaign Admins to join our growing, dynamic virtual voluntary Group.

Diversi- TIES is a virtual voluntary Group, based on the Isle of Wight, the UK, through which individuals living on the Island who have a mobility and/or sensory impairment and their families and friends can come together.

Ideally you will be a person with a mobility and/or sensory impairment, or a carer for such a person.

Internet access, a knowledge of Microsoft Word (word processing) and use of an email address are essential; together with the skills to admininster our Groups website ( www.freewebs.com/diversi-ties/ ) and Facebook page (Diversi- Ties - no barriers to disability (Isle of Wight)) and the Forums/Discussion boards therein.

99% of the work currently undertaken by our Group is carried out ONLINE!!

Our current 'armchair' campaign 'The Isle of Wight Needs Changing Places Toilets' is managed through our Groups website/Facebook page and an ipetition.

Are you dedicated enough?

Our Group also supports Leonard Cheshire Disability in raising awareness of their 'Action for Access' Campaign and Living Streets - Isle of Wight (a local group of the national charity Living Streets, which works to create safe, attractive and enjoyable streets across the UK.) Both our supported on Our website.

Hours/Days for volunteering are at the discretion of the volunteer. Though we would ask for a minimum of 2 hours per week. No timewasters, thank you!

Contact: Alan Davies (founder member of the Group). Email: alwidav@sky.com.
