Hi,
Sound like you have already made your decision as to the place to live! Both towns are great, even though I find them busy compared with where I live in the West Wight. However, I know Liverpool well as I visit it regularly and you'll find the pace of lie here a bit more laid back! The Island gets busy in the Summer though!
Get the County Press delivered or take a look at the Island's estate agencies on the web for more detailed info.
Good luck with the move,

I also live in the West Wight and would say that this is the most beautiful part of the Island to live in, but if you need to live somewhere livlier then I would suggest that you go to either Shanklin or Sandown.
Good luck with the move. |

As mentioned previously it all depends on what kind of area you are wanting to live in. If you are wanting somewhere fairly quiet then West Wight is a good area to live. If you are wanting somewhere more lively than areas such as Shanklin and Sandown are busier.
On the Island lots of schools are being closed down or amalgamated so it is difficult really to say which are the better schools although I do understand that Shalfleet School is very good and Yarmouth School, which is one due for closure is going to be amalgamated with Shalfleet.
Hope this helps. If you want any further info then please ask. |

I prefer the North East, but it's probably the most expensive. Seaview, St Helens, Bembridge. Natural beaches and interesting Solent views. St Helens Duver has the most interesting Solent aspect on the Island in my view, boats in and out of Bembridge Harbour and tankers and cruisers in and out of Portsmouth and Southampton, plus the forts. The sun sets behind you if you're on the sea wall and lights up whatever's out there, lovely. Priory Bay has the best beach on the Island in my opinion, pain in the arse to get to though.
Of course no matter where you are on this island, you're only ever minutes away from both beach and countryside, not many places in the UK can boast that. |
