Great site by the way, just what we was looking for for help advice and maybe make some new friends
We are planning on moving to the Isle of Wight from Creuse France in July with our 3 children. We are English and very fluant in french, well the kids and hubby are l just get by in my quirky way but l would like the kids to continue with language as the world is getting smaller it seems.
So many questions about schools, work, life.
Work is important so l shall start with that
I am a mobile hairdresser and have been hairdressing for nearly 20 yrs,
I do Lady's, Gent's, Teenages and youngsters. Colour's, Perm's, Sets and unusual request for the person who want's to stand out like myself
Do you think l could make a good bussiness there in the isle of wight?
Any replies would be greatly appreciated

Hi Lisa,
welcome to the site. To answer your question, I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to make your business work here on the Island, in fact in these times of financial strife I would think a mobile hairdresser would do quite well, assuming your prices would be less than that of a salon.
I might even give you a call myself, lol.
Anyway, I wish you all the best for your move and look forward to chatting with you in the future. |

Hi thanks for the reply. Thats great news and no worries my prices will be great for everyone especially families and the retired. I thought l would post every where and hope for the best. Retirement homes as used to do that and l love to have a good old natter. Word of mouth is the best way to get work but need to start somewhere. I will let you know when l will be starting just in case you feel like giving me a go.

The weather here is lovely in July. You chose a good time to move. Good luck with your business. Everybody needs their hair cut. You should be just fine. |

Hi Carrie, No luck with our dog. So we just have to swollow the bitter pill and rehome her which is going to be so hard as we love her so much. It will make us feel better though if she goes to a good home. The add went up a few days ago after trying to either find someone to foster her till her passport came through or house sit free of rent ( not much furniture though cos got to sell it all to fund our move) but had no takers and we can't wait 6 months and can't afford kennals or quarantene. So just hope now we can find a home for her. Not thought what we are going to do if one hasn't come up by the time we leave but doing all we can. |
