| Did anyone go walking for the Walking Week? I didn't get chance to unfortunately. I'm looking forward to the time when I can actually get out exploring and walking. So far the only place I've been for a very quick walk was the Duver. Why not name your favourite walk. |

There are so many walks that we have enjoyed but ones that stick out are the Tennyson Trail..bit of a killer on the old legs but brilliant scenery. The Nunwell Trail from Sandown to Ryde is a bit easier.
Last year we did a walk around the Arreton Valley which starts and finishes at The White Lion. That was a bit of a trek but well worth it...finishes with a really steep climb so beware.
Best thing is to get the various walking booklets from Tourist Information. They are pretty easy to follow and gets you right off the beaten track.
This is the sort of thing you get......

We've done some very nice walks starting from the Nunnery carpark at the back of Carisbrooke. When I started this topic my dogs were still back up in Lancashire, now they're here we've been doing lots of exploring (including America Wood).
Today was an easy walk, down the cycle track from Yarmouth, Freshwater Way over the golf course, nice mooch on the beach and then back. I seem to have actually tired the dogs out this weekend |

The Freshwater Way is a nice steady stroll with no strenuous climbs and has the added advantage of having the Red Lion about three quarters of the way along !!
It surprised me that the public footpath actually goes through people property in places and as you can see by the picture below it gets very close to their house in this instance...

| Are you quite sure you didn't leave the the bridleway by accident and are now being sought by the authorities for trespassing. |

| Took the dogs on their first Walking Festival walk today. Five miles from Yarmouth with 65 other people! |
