Hi all.
Myself & my mate are in dire need & in need of urgent assistance, to which I'm sure I've come to the right place to ask.
We are both 2 scooter riders who have been rejected by the new owners of the seahaven hotel in Ryde for no reason whatsoever 18 months ago. After 12 years of regular patronage at that fine establishment the new owners witnessed an argument between a couple that were nothing to do with us & consequently panicked & banned all scooterists!
This left us with nowhere to stay for the scooter rally. Unfortunately last year we booked two rooms at the Crown on the top of the hill in union street & to be honest, plaster holes in the walls & lop sided creaking floors with no breakfast at £40 per night per person isn't really my thing.
Does anybody in Ryde town centre have the room for two extremely well behaved married (to women, not each other I hasten to add ) quiet chaps for the august bank holiday? Or does anyone know somebody able to assist? Camping in a garden is not out of the equasion at all either. If so can we negotiate a deal?
Signed
Desperate of Otterbourne. |

iks,
Doesn't look like it mate.
I had the same response to my problem with the miniature snails.
Fortunately, I think the colder weather has sorted that.
Maybe you would be better off waiting until nearer the time.
Just an idea, but down Appley Rise (coming from Ampthill Road, its the last place on the left before Abbey Lane) there is a big old place divided off into flats.
Its a bit run down, but they seem nice people in there and maybe they would let you pitch a tent for a couple of nights.
Worth a look anyway. |

Have to agree August is a long way off, how about camping at Smallbrook? unless you need to be in the town that is (drinking and driving )
@George, you never mentioned the snails needed somewhere to stay...I though they lived in your printer |

Cheers for the replies. I agree august is a long way off, but with Ryde crammed to the rafters with people who cant even ride scooters & taking all the b&b's geting somewhere to stay is a military operation. I stayed in the crown at the top of union st last yr, and the swines booked my room out to someone else while I was still staying there!!
Camping or staying outside of Ryde is a no no I'm afraid...I dont want to queue up for ages for a coach home & then be kept awake all night by some drunk lout riding round the campsite at 4 am. |

@iks,
"Camping in a garden is not out of the equasion"
GD suggests trying a place in Appley, then:
"Camping or staying outside of Ryde is a no no "
I'm confused. |
