Just heard the terrible news that its probable another 125 islanders may lose their jobs with BAE.
I wonder if they will get the media coverage engineered by the Socialist Workers Party, Ventnor Blog, Marina Pepper and her band of green activists for the Vestas workers.
Somehow doubt it as they were nowhere to be seen when 130 Woolworths workers lost their jobs and the 50 odd workers who lost their jobs when Sinclair Young went bust.
Not enough political mileage in it for them. |

Wait on people let's not have yet another topic that ends up in Ventnor!!
The subject is BAE job losses. Very sad and as usual right on top of Christmas. Unfortunately this is the way of all manufacturing. When the order book is full all is dandy, but the profits made are so small once the order book becomes a little empty there's no money to support the lean times.
The whole process of manufacturing has become a commodity, competition from all over the world has left this country unable to compete. |
