Ive heard nothing but moans re SV, parents forking out £99 for student tickets, for 3months use of buses, others paying £22 to get them to work for a week, they only use the bus 5 or 6 days but it works out cheaper to get the 7 day rover.
The buses are full of pensioners in the week ... I mean, who wants to pay £2.50 to go a couple of stops or to get them up the hill with their shopping? You can't even get return tickets for a journey, only single fares.
Share a taxi with a friend or 2 and you definately save money. Try advertising for 'lift shares' to get to work, win win situation again, sharing the fuel costs. |

I had my first experience of the buses here the other day going from Cowes to Ryde, decided to give it a go rather than drive. It was the first time I've got on a bus with a £10.00 and not had the driver complain about how much change he was having to part with.....because there wasn't much..! Back to the car for me..! |

Your post sums up exactly what I said in my my last post on this subject.
You're another lost customer and being forced back into your car you are adding to the traffic congestion that is only going to get worse.
If a public transport service can't get people out of their cars what use is it? |

Quite agree with you Wight Portal - SV don't give a public service at all. Also it is going to be interesting to see what it going to happen now that the Council seem to be getting rid of the Wightbus!
Wonder if SV will start running less routes than it currently does at the moment. |
