Hi
Just read on the isle of wight county press website that the Pan Meadows site is starting to be developed.
As a possible newcomer to the island I am interested to know where this site is. It won't be shown on google maps but can anyone explain exactly where it is.
many thanks

If you go to Google Maps and type in Pan Stores Isle of wight, change to satellite view, zoom in on the A marker until the road names appear.
You see the main drag called Furlongs?
Pick any of those fields on the right of that road as it snakes it's way upwards and that is where your Pan Meadows will be found. |

Thanks for the reply. I found the website for the developers which shows the whole area which is going to be used.
I think I will have to make sure that I do my research when buying a place to make sure that if I am lucky enough to find a place with fields and land around it, that it will stay like that.
Same problems in the channel islands with limited land available for suitable affordable housing - hence my reason for leaving.

I don't know what you entire situation is but you've got £200,000 to play with.
The last thing you want is one of the God awful shoe boxes that are going up at Pan Meadows or any other of the developments that are happening.
The really radical life changing approach would be to buy a plot of land stick a caravan on it to live in and build your own home.
Now there's nothing really rad about that until I say do away with bricks and mortar and use straw bales.
Check it out here http://www.strawbale-building.co.uk/
Not only is this a cheap and quick way to build, 4 walls of a decent size 3 bed house foundations to roof plate £600-£1000 for instance, but if you hire a pro and sale build courses at £200 a pop, you've paid for the professional help and the labour.
Or maybe just buy from Pan Meadows |
