|
|
Hi all,
Hope this is ok as a post!
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for an unusual venues on the Island? Googling seems to bring up the same places, and whilst many of the venues around the iow are lovely, they're just not really doing anything for me.
Doesn't have to have a ceremony licence - just looking for an interesting space to have an awesome party!
If anyone has any thoughts (apart from stop being so picky!), or suggestions they'd be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance,
DS22 xx |

| You don't say what time of year you are getting married, or how big your budget is. |

Hello :O)
That's because i don't know!
time of year - don't mind - i'd currently rather be led by an amazing venue than time of year.
Budget - not stupid money, but investing in the day - so maybe not as fancy as champagne, not as cheap as asti spumante, but definitiely Prosecco.
sorry if that's a bit crypitc - feels odd unveling finances on a forum!!
Thanks!

OK, so there's no actual date set.
Here's an off the wall idea, if you're into history although you'll have to check to see if this still goes on, I'm not sure if they've done this the last few years.
At the end of August beginning of September English Heritage, who own Carisbrooke Castle hold a re-enactment of a jousting tournament. It's a damn good show, all the costumes are authentic the players even only speak in olde English, and welcome people who want to join them.
If you could find out how to contact them through English Heritage, they could probably mock up a medieval wedding ceremony, they probably even know caterers who could sort out the grub. Instead of the usual wedding gifts get your guests to make their own costumes.
Of course this wouldn't be a private do, but like I said it's off the wall.
OR:
Havenstreet Railway has a 1940's weekend at the back end of summer you might be able to arrange something similar with them. |

How about the Royal Hotel if you fancy something swanky? www.royalhoteliow.co.uk
Or contact Robin Hill about a private party there? |
