| OBVIOUSLY when it snows and yes on a hill, where is the best place to take the kids to sledge - I live in Newport |

As kids we always went up Carisbrooke Castle.
Just by the traffic lights is a style, hop over that and turn left and you have an excellent toboggan run, but it needs quite a bit of snow to make it so.
You could also try the footpath from the Castle car park that leads down to the junction of Millers Lane/Clatterford Shute, with enough snow it's like ride a luge.
Of course back in my day, with the lack of traffic on the roads, before the gritter lorries came round we used to be able to sledge down Carisbrooke High Street. |
